I think the distinguishing factor between lust and love is the pressence of a sexual desire.
I'm a very loving and passionate person. I love many people but I lust for only the person Im sexually attracted to or active with. There can be lust regardless of whether or not there is love. Men tell me they "are in love with me" frequently. I often think they are confusing their alleged feelings of love with lust and infatuation. Beginning w the first man I ever dated, every serious relationship I've been in has ended because the man asked me to marry them. I hope to find true love, not just another man who becomes over- infatuated w because of I satiate his lustful desires
It seems to me that the difference between love and lust is whether you know and respect this person or not. Lust is very close if not the same as limerence, and many people get that confused. When you truly love somebody, you love the person and not the way they make you feel
