How Important Is Sex In a Relationship?

Tonight on the Open Forum, we're curious to hear just how important sex is in your relationship.  Is it the ultimate thing by which a relationship should be judged or just an important aspect? Give us a call with your thoughts, around 10:45pm PST, at 1-800-LOVE-191!

sex is very important in a relationship. because what is love without sex. we make love because we love each other and want to be together in every way. loving each other or being with each other but without sex is like being on your own. sex is what keep the love/relationship strong. im pretty sure we all would feel less loved if theres no sex in a relationship. less contact. less connection. sex is a part of a relationship.

Sex is not important in a relationship. Most may disagree but in my relationship it works only due to our circumstances. Unfortunitly, my boyfriend has gone away for a few years, and our relationship is actually stronger because of it. We grew closer by really getting to know more about one another, rather then just basing it mainly on the sex. We bonded more and realized our love was based on real attraction and not just a sexual attraction. I have not had sex in over 3 years and i plan to not have it for 4 more years till he comes home. We have been in a total of 2 fights in the last 3 years that was dropped a few minutes later, and in most cases people would not believe me but he trust me completely. When you truely love someone the sex is not important, if it was then if your loved one went away like mine, would you just leave him because you couldn't have sex anymore?? or would you stand by his side till they came home? Sorry if you you disagree, but i am extremely proud of us.

my boyfriend and i have been together since we were 14 (now 21) we lost it to each other and have experimented a lot with each other which has brought us together, it is definitely a big part of our relationship but it is not the only thing. during sex my bf makes it all about me, but wants it/gets it every other day, i enjoy pleasuring him and getting satisfaction and ill be ok once a week.throughout the years our sex life has changed, as have we and it should be an important part (but not a defying part) but to each their own

Sex is very important in a HEALTHY relationship. It is something that you share with a significant other to feel closer. Or connect in a different way than you do with others. Many miss use it to solve issues in a relationship, gain addiction, to feel wanted... it should be used to share and show Love for one another not in just a physical manner but as well emotional.
